1. Can I use a Baumatic extractor hood in re-circulation mode?
Yes all Baumatic extractors hoods can be used in re-circulation mode and can also be ducted to the outside atmosphere. To use the extractor in re-circulation mode you will need to fit carbon filters, which can be purchased direct from the Baumatic Spares team.
2. What size ducting is required for most Baumatic extractor hoods?
125mm ducting is required as standard but it can be reduced to 100mm using an adaptor.
3. What fuse rating is required for Baumatic single electric ovens?
Most Baumatic single electric ovens require a 13 amp fuse rating with the exception of some models which have a 16 amp requirement. Please check the Technical Specifications for each model, found in the User / Installation manual.
4. Can I use a round bottom wok on a Baumatic gas hob which incorporates a wok burner?
Most Baumatic hobs incorporating a wok burner are supplied with a wok stand, designed for use with round bottom wok’s.
5. What is the gas safety feature fitted to many Baumatic gas appliances?
Should the flame extinguish, then this device will cut off the gas supply.
6. Can I install a Baumatic single electric oven into a tall housing unit?
Yes, this is possible as long as the ventilation and installation instructions are adhered to. (See the product's User / Installation manual for full details).
7. I have just installed a Baumatic oven and switched it on for the first time, there is a nasty smell coming from the oven what is it?
We recommend that before using the oven for the first time that each heating element is turned on for 30 minutes each at 200 degrees C, this is done in order to burn off the residue that has been left behind during manufacture.
8. Can Baumatic gas products be converted to work with LPG?
Yes. All Baumatic gas appliances are supplied with the conversion jets for LPG. (All gas installations must be carried out by a GAS SAFE registered installer and to the current regulations in place).
9. A fan continues to run after I have finished cooking and switch off my oven, why is this?
There is a cooling fan behind the control panel of your oven, this will continue to run for a while after the cooking process is complete in order to assist in cooling the oven more quickly, once the oven reaches a safe temperature the fan will automatically switch itself off.
10. What type of saucepans should I use on a ceramic glass hob?
The pans must have flat and preferably thick base the same size as the cooking zone being used. If you are unsure that your pans are suitable, please contact the manufacturer of the pans for clarification.
11. What is the size of the gas connection of Baumatic gas appliances?
The gas connection size is a ½ inch BSP male thread, (All gas installations must be carried out by a GAS SAFE registered installer and to the current regulations in place).
12. Why does my ceramic glass hob turn it self on and off during cooking?
This is normal, each cooking zone has a sensor which allows the zone to pulse during the cooking process and avoids overheating.
13. My touch control extractor hood has a flashing A symbol on the display, what is this?
This extractor is fitted with a microprocessor and the flashing A indicates that it is time to clean the metalic grease filters, this will happen after every 30 hours of use, to reset the microprocessor press and hold down the minus button on the control panel for 5 seconds, the A will disappear.
14. There is a key symbol on my ceramic hob, what is it for?
It has two uses: firstly during cooking, the zone maybe locked at a desired temperature and also when the appliance is not in use, the key maybe used as a safety device to avoid any accidental use, to operate simply press the key symbol touch pad.
15. What is the Hyper Gas burner?
The Hypergas is a Triple Crown (wok) burner with a large output (4.20 - 4.50kW), with dual controls for split operation.
16. Can Baumatic built in microwaves be used as free standing appliances?
Yes, most Baumatic microwaves can be used as free standing units. For those models, a Stainless Steel built-in kit is available as an optional extra. Please check the specifications for the model of your choice.
17. What are the advantages of fan oven cooking?
This function provides even cooking of food and allows different kinds of food to be cooked simultaneously on different shelves and gives faster and more economical operation.
18. Are Baumatic dishwashers hot or cold water fill?
All Baumatic dishwashers should be connected to the cold water supply as this gives the most efficient wash results.
19. Can the doors of Baumatic integrated fridges and freezers be reversed to suit my installation requirements?
Yes! All Baumatic integrated refrigeration appliances are supplied with the necessary parts for reversal of the doors.
20. Should I open or close the oven door when using the grill in my Baumatic electric oven?
The oven door must always remain closed when using the grill function of a Baumatic electric oven as this will give the best cooking results.
